MTV é contra a guerra. Mesmo?
Várias são as vinhetas contra a guerra exibidas na MTV brasileira. Mas será que a MTV é realmente contra a guerra? Não há nada a esse respeito na página da "matriz".
Ou será que toda a discrição é devido à liberdade de imprensa americana, que colocou Peter Arnett na rua?
Discrição que não faltou para serem ridículos e subestimarem a inteligência da população ao colocarem uma seção do sítio com e-mails diretos do front. Vejam isso que coisa imunda. Atenção, não é um relato de "como foram as minhas férias". É importante deixar isso claro!

Pera, só uma questão: com essa guerra eles estão defendendo o povo americano? Eu hein. Achei que estavam sacrificando as vidas dos heróis americanos, para que pudessem dar liberdade ao povo iraquiano. Um gesto de entrega.
That’s one good thing about being in the military. You get to travel and you meet some real cool people, many of whom become your friends for life. The down side is being deployed to a place so far from home like this.
Resumindo, ser militar lá é um barato. O chato é que você pode ficar longe de casa. Guerra? Mortes? Isso nem é mencionado no texto, com exceção dessa frase: "Well, as you all know, the war has started and is well under way.".
Fora isso, é tudo uma grande diversão.

Ainda sobre a imprensa americana, há um trecho muito interessante de uma "carta ao vaticano" escrita por Michael Moore:
On the way back home to Flint, Mich., the day after the Oscars, two flight attendants told me how they had gotten stuck overnight in Flint with no flight -- and wound up earning only $30 for the day because they are paid by the hour.
They said they were telling me this in the hope that I would tell others. Because they, and the millions like them, have no voice. They don't get to be commentators on cable news like the bevy of retired generals we've been watching all week. (Can we please demand that the U.S. military remove its troops from ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN/MSNBC/Fox?) They don't get to make movies or talk to a billion people on Oscar night. They are the American majority who are being asked to send their sons and daughters over to Iraq to possibly die so Bush's buddies can have the oil.
